Mukesh Ambani pays Rs 1.6 crore for car registration
Billionaire businessman Mukesh Ambani has paid Rs 1.6 crore to register his armoured BMW 760Li High Security luxury sedan estimated to be priced at Rs 8.5 crore
Mumbai based industrialist Mukesh Ambani has purchased a new BMW 7-series Luxury Sedan.
Well, despite the Rs 1 crore plus price tag, the BMW 7-series isn’t
among the most exclusive set of wheels on Indian soil. But the one
ordered by the Reliance Industries honcho is a special; bullet-proof
edition with armour protection on the chassis and windows. The armoured
BMW 7-series loosened the wallet of senior Ambani by a stonking Rs 8.5
crore which makes it almost seven times more expensive than the lesser
mortal BMW 7-series!
BMW 760Li High Security is one of the first cars in the world to be
certified to BRV (Bullet Resistant Vehicle) 2009 and meet the
requirements of the new ballistic protection level VR7. This means that
the BMW can withstand AK-47 bullets effortlessly and even the Indian
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also travels in one of the above armoured
7-series. The newly developed V12 unit of the BMW 760Li High Security
unleashes 550PS at 5,250 rpm and peak torque of 750 Nm comes at 1,500
rpm. The above numbers are requires as armour protection has made the
car weigh close to four tonnes and despite this the luxobarge
accelerates from zero to 100kmph in just 6.2 seconds.
